2021 Taiwan Startup Ecosystem Survey

PwC Taiwan and the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research jointly conducted the 2021 Taiwan Startup Ecosystem Survey, which is now in its fourth year.

The latest survey focuses on the strategies that Taiwan-based startups adopted in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, finding that they sought to broaden their income base and reduce costs, while also availing of government economic relief measures and loan programmes, to tide over any difficulties during the crisis.

It also reveals that larger companies are increasingly seeking to cooperate with startups to help speed up innovation, demonstrating that startups play an important role in promoting industrial transformation.

A survey of incubators and accelerators explores the resource needs of startups at varying stages as well as their service capabilities, and provides insights into the future development of these institutions.

An English summary of the key findings from the original Chinese survey report is available below. We hope you will find it useful and insightful.
